Flickering lights, grounding issue on headlight CA72.
Please give a brief description of what you are attempting to cure.
For sure those wires have been changed. Look for any loose connections and if the horn and lights (including speedo) work then start checking every other connection for tightness and compare the colors to the wiring diagram. Any metal part which attaches to another part may be suspect whether it needs to be grounded (metal to metal contact) to the part it is attached to. Use a VOM to check that the parts have continuity...........lm
DD, You definitely have your horn wiring jacked up. Those 2 short black wires coming off your harness are for the horn. Two short wires with male bullet ends from the horn are supposed to connect to them. Only one of those two black wires is supposed to be a hot wire that powers the horn. Do me a favor and disconnect the aqua green wire plugged into your horn from your left handlebar switch and the one black harness wire connected to the horn. Turn on your ignition switch and check the 2 black wires and the aqua green wire for power and tell me what you find. HT
DD,
Here is a close-up of an uncut Dream harness and horn. You can see where the 2 horn wires connect to the harness. The single black wire with the female connector to the far left is what the horn button wire from the left handlebar switch is supposed to connect to in the headlight bucket. **Do you have anything connected to this female connection? If you do what is plugged in there and if so repeat the test I asked with this disconnected and tell me the results.** HT
