Look in a mirror.

The photos show 2 issues of tensioner.
One (left) is the first issue with the set bolt on the left side. (first issue) But has the third issue spring and tensioner bar.
Right came along at engine number 105099. (issue 3)
You can see the set nut is on the right side and angled down a bit.
There is a third issue (issue 2) with the set bolt on the right and used the large aluminum mount.
The parts book doesn't show where it started but it does show the last as 1050998
The parts you refer to are not a replacement for the tensioner wheel. (HONDA didn't supply a replacement for that part).
They are the cam chain guide roller. ................lm

The wheel on my cam chain tensioner is quite worn and I see a couple of E-Bay listings for just the rubber wheel.
It does not look as if Honda designed it to be replaceable. Have people successfully done this?

Thanks LM. Understood.
I guess it's obvious that I have not been deep inside one of these engines yet.

Sorry for the confusion Loud Mouse, the pictures i posted in the first post show the first issue tensioner on the left and the late style tensioner with the early style arm that someone attatched on the right.

the picture i posted on page 2 shows my new correct late style on the left (sorry the set bolt got cut out of the picture) and the other late style i had with the incorrect arm on the right.

i have resurfaced one other wheel with your bench grinder method with great results! but this one is pretty ugly.. is it safe to completely grind the ridge off and regrind a new one?

Just to be clear, is this item a replacement for the tensioner wheel?
Click the link and read the seller's description. Capellini makes different cam chain tensioner sprocket replacements and a variety of other replacement, re-engineered products.

As HONDA issued 2 sizes of the wheel I'd say if ya can get it round with a defined center ridge ya would be OK. ...........lm
