Hey guys sorry for mot replying been tryin to get this thing going lol the motor was running fine i had a vave job now i got good compression fire etc and had it runnin for a while on the stand, today i go to adjust it and it has a grinding noise when i use the electric start almost like a chain jumping i checked the starter its fine, check the gear behind strator and its fine, any ideas? It will not start now about 10 revouktions of the motor and i hear bang almost like sumething binding anyone exspeirce this??

Check the starter motor clutch behind the alternator rotor.

I just fixed one where all 3 screws holding the starter clutch on had sheared off. It was making a heck of a racket.

Okay guys i got a spare how do i pull the allumium roud thingy that the strator goes over off the crankshaft?

You need a puller which actually isn't much more than a bolt that threads into the rotor and pushes against the crank. M16x1.5 I think. I think I remember using the rear axle of the dream as a puller once but unsure.

I gotmine off found 2 springs inside were broken in half would this be my problem ?

It is a problem and all 3 springs should be replaced as I imagine if the third one isn't broken it has been compressed. If everything else checks out that is your sole problem. Do you have all 3 of your spring caps? Are any of the 3 rollers pitted or damaged? Are all 3 screws tight and still staked in? Are there any cracks in the starter clutch housing, especially near where the rollers reside? How does the roller surface on the crank look?
