Look at the drive sprocket on your crank. The large spring washer may have been installed on the wrong side of the drive sprocket. It belongs outboard. I have opened up motors and found it installed incorrectly on the inboard side and it causes mis-alignment with sprocket wear. CRANK/ sprocket, curved washer with the center hole out, star washer , nut. Washer on filter goes to the outside end of the shaft. .....lm
