Candy Orange CL77
Candy Orange CL77Hi everyone, I'm relatively new to the forum, but have really enjoyed it for the last couple months. I have been restoring a candy orange cl77 for the last 2 1/2 years and getting very close to being finished. My goal is Spring 2011. I have spent countless hours on the internet researching this bike and have yet to see a single picture of a candy orange cl77. I'm ready to paint mine and since no one knows where to get the exact color match , I would love to see someone's bike pictures to see how close mine will be. I'll be glad to provide mi cell # if that makes it easier to send pics.
Thanks, David Lucas Cape Girardeau, Mo. Candy OrangeDavid, welcome to the forum. There are pictures of a candy orange CL somewhere on this forum. Try searching under" 22,000$ cl, or CL on e-bay. It's here somewhere................................Dhttp://www.jwoodandcompany.com/2008/2008_pics/ ... ambler.JPG
fyi if you just want to get close to the color and not spend a ton of money painting, Duplicolor makes a "Metal Specks" line in a rattle can that has a color very close to a candy orange or a sunrise orange its called Burnt Copper. Use a silver chrome base and a few clears and its really not half bad for a $40 paint job. This is a guys bike from SOHC forums.
David,
I had a Candy Burnt Orange CL77 I bought from the original owner several years ago. I sold it to a fella in W. VA about 5 years ago. I have new silver tinsel welt that went around the top of the seat if you need it. I sent some to a fellow down in MO for his seat and he said it worked out great. I saw a restored orange candy CL77 at Mid Ohio a while back. I think it was Doug Swick's bike. Try reaching him through the VJMC as he still might have the paint formula. The color looked really good to me. Good Luck- HT
