Reading valve colorBack to Nander's question about the screws. They should be tightened and then use a center punch to stake them so that they do not back out an cause damage.
I'll be interested to see/read what is found inside that starter and planetary gear set. I don't have a starter motor here, but I would have sworn it was (almost) impossible to turn the sprocket. Maybe I was just a ten stone weakling and guys like Steve were kicking sand in my face... Charles Atlas body building adverts from the sixties IIRC
I'm neither bone crusher nor beach-bully, I promise; 5'8", 92kg / 200lbs-ish, hung like a dormouse! I was surprised when I pulled the starter off and tried turning the sprocket; feels something like a 2:1 reduction, when observing the com, but that's just a guess.
Where's your homeland, Teazer? Not US, I reckon. Not with reference to 'fag papers'!
Well, so I tried that starter motor sprocket again after reading your experience e3steve. This time I was able to turn the motor in both directions. It just took more force than I had originally applied (and a firm grip rather than just thumb and forefinger) to twist it. So, I'll wait to hear back before I start dismantling it.

I know that feeling; I'm a bit ferral myself. What Yanks call a 'fag paper' we'd call Gay News......
