Ohtsu whitewalls

Paul, I don’t know the answer to your question exactly, but Bill Silver’s Dream Restoration CD has some pictures that may help.

On page 10 of the 1960 “This Is Honda” brochure, there is a picture of a CS72 with whitewalls. Not a ’61, but seems like an indicator.

Pages 60 and 61 of Bill Silver’s Honda Buyer’s Guide shows pictures of ‘60 and ’62 CS77’s that both have whitewalls. I can’t say whether these are “Honda” factory pictures, but Bill is a detail guy and I think you can assume they are another indicator of whitewalls being OEM.

I didn’t look through everything on the CD, but did take a quick look at a couple of obvious places to help with your question. You should get his CD if you don't have it.

Hope this is helpful.

I have a 1960 C77 with both ohtsu whitewall tyres still there, although in very poor condition.
My guess is that only the early 305 bikes (so not the 250's) had the whitewall ohtsu's
