Replacing '64 Dream Clutch Plates

Post by mason123h » Wed Jun 20, 2018 10:15 am

Hey guys, my first question is where would be a good place to buy clutch components for a '64 dream? I am looking to get new friction discs and clutch springs at the very least, but will also most likely replace some bolts and washers too. The ridges on my friction plates were all but worn down so I figured I might as well replace them. My clutch also has very weak return at the hand lever, which led me to look into replacing the springs.
My second question; what is the best/safest way to remove the retaining wire that is holding back the last clutch plate? Should I replace that wire after removing it?
Thanks for the help!

Contact Loudmouse here on the forum.

I recently purchased a new basket, plates, discs - everything from him.

Very reasonable and he's great to talk to on the phone if you need help walking through the installation.
