Carb setup/idle tips.

Turn both air screws in until they bottom, then turn them out one and one-half turns (baseline setting).

Set the idle screw on one cylinder a little high, start the engine on one cylinder (or start it on both) and then remove the other spark plug wire. Bike now running on one cylinder.

Now gently adjust the air screw in and out until you get the smoothest, highest idle speed on that cylinder. You shouldn't have to go more than a half-turn or three-quarter turn in either direction.

Turn off engine and repeat process for other cylinder.

Now, when you start the engine on both cylinders the idle will be too high. Back off each idle screw the same amount until you get a nice even idle.

Okay, one more step: With the engine off, put your finger inside the carb throats and feel when the slides are lifting off the idle stops. Both slides should lift at the same time. If they don't, adjust the throttle cable or cable adjusters at the top of the carbs to make both slides lift simultaneously.
Do what you've always done and you'll get what you've always had.
