CB77 Mirror Extenders

Post by jmn » Mon Aug 28, 2017 9:42 pm

I have been frustrated with the mirrors on my CB77 for years, and decided to look for some kind of extender to push them out for greater visibility behind me. So far these are working great. I know they are not ideal visually, but at least they're solid aluminum (8mm, comes with bolts)
and really do the trick. Any opinions or alternate solutions out there?

Nice looking early CB and script grips you got there, what year is your bike?

Thanks.
Hi Tim - I bought/swapped some parts with you a few years back (muffler, hand grip). It's a CB72, titled 1962, but harness says 1961, so I guess it's really a "61.

BTW, I remember you restored mufflers - wondering if you have any for sale? I've got Emgo Dunstalls on it; they are fine but NOISEY....Not sure I can afford them but thought I'd ask.

Hi Jon,

Oh yes I remember now. I still have all the molds for making those, but most people don't know or care about correct grips on early bikes. But they sure do look better and as a bonus more comfortable than the waffle grip.

I restored 2 more S/S sets earlier this year for both my '61 cb72s. But still haven't gotten around to the other 4 sets laying on the shelf. Sense it take me 80 to 100 hours per muffler. I'm pacing myself. Lol

wow - 2 '61's - I'd love to see them if you care to post any pix. Good luck with the mufflers. It sounds like an impossible task - maybe that's why it takes so long...but worth it I'm sure.

Jon,
I emailed you an eye full. Yes, it's worth ever hour in the end.

Best,
