Model-year database, 1965>

Post by e3steve » Sat Aug 12, 2017 2:57 pm

CB77 only

I've been gathering and saving this info for a few years, all gleaned mainly thanks to members here. I'm referring to the 1965 to 1968-registered (we have a couple in the UK) CB77s with the seven-figure frame numbers and their year-of-sale/registration; the range is vast -- 1000001 to 1056432 -- and just listed as "1965 - 1967" production.

Please feel free to add your own, known info within this topic.

friends bike

Post by jleewebb » Sun Aug 13, 2017 1:54 pm

Hi Steve! A friend's bike has engine # CB77E-1026504...it has alloy fork lowers, tip-up seat, breather fittings/hoses under carbs with "Y" and hose to air cleaner, and crossover pipe on tank. He thinks it's a '67 per registration but I don't...
'62 CB77. "It's a rider."

Lee! Great to see you're still here, amigo!!

He needs to look at the wiring harness tag, under the fuel tank; but it looks like another 'hanger-on' at the dealer, before registration. I'd wager, from the info herein, that it's a '65...

Do you guys, Stateside, get vehicles that are re-registered? We do in the UK, but a previously-registered bike/car/truck would have to receive a Vehicle Registration Mark -- registration plate/document -- from the year that it was originally registered.

In 2008 in Spain I bought a MINI Cooper. It had veen imported from Germany and was originally registered there in 2004, but was registered in Spain in 2006; thus it received a 2006 VRM and showed, in the Ficha Tecnica, that it was a 2006 car.

Britain's Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) state that "it is an offence to make a vehicle appear newer (younger) than it is".

Most 105xxxxs seem likely to be '67-reg'd, it appears; but as you can see, I've only ever been fed two of them so far. Three, with yours, so thank you!
