New found .cb77 type 1.

Post by apolo1100 » Sat Aug 05, 2017 10:35 pm

Hi there all ..
Today I found a really nice unmolested 1964 type 1 cb77 only 45 minutes away from my house.. the harness still carry out the white sticker showing a clear 1964.. and the frame and eng # are not to far apart only by 5 numbers from each other..
bike is from original owner with pink slip and original plates ..with only 14k.
tool bag complete and mufflers are incredible in excellent shape..!
bike was park away in 1974 and left it there in the garage ..i think a good clean up will bring this baby back.
I will need a new gas tank do ..it was left with gas , and is paper thin..
also a new set of badges . they disintegrated..!
let me figure it out how to downsize the pics to post some of them.

Great find!

The front fender seems to have been shortened a little but the bike looks in wonderful shape.

Just wipe it over, change the oil, clean the filter and you are away.

Very nice indeed.

Awesome! Mufflers are in great shape. Does the engine turn over? If not let me know because I just un seized my engine after being stored in a garage for 25 years.

Nice bike thought.

Tanks are not cheap at least for ones in good shape but ebay has a bunch.

Hi there ..
here is what I found when I open this baby..
one of the ring where stuck to the cylinder just enough to have me open the engine apart.
thanks to that I found the oil spinner was loose from the crank nut and there was no way it was going to work .
also I found the carbs where stuck.
but all and all it was good to look the inside of the components .
Here some pictures ..
I spend all day today with the magic of baking soda as a media blast ..worked really good ..!
Now im waiting for some new rings and timing chain.
Cheers.
