I finally successfully un seized my 67 hawk today after letting acetone and ATF work it's magic for nearly a month.

I will post some pics tomorrow of the Pistons and cylinder walls but think I can re use the original pistons and bore or hone the cylinder to 60mm.

Does anyone know where I can purchase a set of std rings part number 13010-275-000.

You cannot "bore to 60mm" as the bores are already 60mm. You can hone them to remove rust but the diameter will then be more than 60mm. The eventual size depends on how much damage you need to remove.

Thanks G-Man. You re right and I should have been more specific.

My engine builder recommended that I bore to 60.50 and buy 2nd over pistons and rings but I'm not rich and didn't want to go that route unless I absolutely needed to.

The cylinders are not that bad but I guess you ll be able to tell once I post the pictures.

I know the tolerances are very tight but I thought honing would work but I may be mistaken.

If your engine man recommends 60.50 then he must think that the bores need it. First oversize is 60.25.

He hasn't seen the engine yet but made a recommendation.

I d like to use first over parts but I ll try and track down the Pistons first.

Will I need to find a different head gasket from the standard if I use first or second over pistons and rings?

Thanks LM i really appreciate the info. I read the a thread where you and Jensen along with others were discussing spending $$$$ on pistons and rings and talking about him being a super engineer. I'm on a budget and would love to re-use the existing pistons and rings but will have to see my engine builder for him to take measurements of the bore. I'm hoping I'm within spec to stick with standard rings.

I heard that early engines from start of production to engine number CB77E-111180 used rings with p/n 13010-275-000 but engines from CB77E-111181 like mine used rings p/n 13012-275-000 for the standard bore. Would you happen to know if this is true?
