The Old Girl in her original guise way back when never had an issue, either. And I was a college girl riding the dickens out of her and not paying a lot of attention to maintenance. (There was the time I came from class to ride her home and someone had left a note on the saddle that said "LUBE YOUR CHAIN"...) She always started and the lights always worked and the battery never gave me trouble.

The C72 you have is for the DREAM engine as it doesn't show the timing marks for the left side. (not needed)
I do have the CB72 issue rotor if you would like one.
I've many a mile with the CL72 bikes I had in the early 60's then the 1963 CB77 I rode for many years and never a voltage problem as to riding with any as I rode the early bikes all the time and with the CB77 I kept the battery at 12 volts at all times so I could ride.
I didn't change anything with the charge system.
Your original rotor was a CB72 (L) issue. ..............lm

All rotors are marked.
The original CB will show CB72 which is the higher mag. .............lm

Okay. I haven't seen one of those, other than one marked "C72" on eBay right now. I wish I had the original rotor. It was seriously messed up from the starter clutch coming apart, but I'd like to know what exactly it was.
