Yes, the thought did occur to me to reinstall the points, but the Tytronic electronic ignition did have some good recommendations with it...it's in print so it must be true, right?? ;)

It's also a huge PITA to drop the engine and install the condenser - you damn near have to take the bike apart to do it - but if I futz around with the elec. ignition and still get nothing, I probably will - I hate to eat that cost, though...:/

LM, I'll run a continuity test on it and see what I get; it might (hopefully) be Installer Error...

Danielzink, what kind of electronic ignition did you get?

But another question too: if I'm not getting spark, how come it backfires when I crank the ignition switch through it's position?

I ask about a wiring diagram and you haven't replied.
Do you have a wiring diagram of the bike switch and new part? . ............lm

I have a wiring diagram for the Honda 250 and 300 (model C72, C77).

There is no diagram for the new electronic ignition.

The unit itself is mounted where the points plate usually goes.

As it is right now, I have one wire from the new electronic ignition plugged into the wiring harness where the condenser goes, and the other wire from the elec. ignition clipped into the wire going to the secondary coil.

With the key on do you have 12 volts at the coil.
If not find 12 volts from the switch. ...................lm
