Tool Question

Which do you prefer, a compression tester or a leak-down tester? It seems to me that the leak-down would tell you more from the start. Any thoughts?

They each have their own purposes. The compression tester will help indicate if the valves are adjusted properly, if the cam is timed correctly, and if the compression ratio is proper. Have the throttle wide open when testing. The leakdown tester will show how much cylinder and valve leakage you have, and will provide an indication of where the issues are. Regards, Chase

Thanks LM and Chase. I guess I'll have to do some more thinking about which will serve me best.
