Found out earlier that the needle jet hadn't been refitted by the PO. Luckily, it was in the box of carburettor bits, so I took out the main jet, needle jet holder, and dropped it back in place. I wonder if that would stop the bike starting?

The engine is back in, and I'm starting to get everything back together again. Come to a halt for now as the side stand had been painted black, whereas it should be silver. I've painted it, but am waiting for "oven time" tomorrow morning as the missus will be home from work soon!

CMS have dispatched another carb insulator, so that'll be replaced too.

Had to contact Bill 'Mr Honda' Silver today as the replated rear shock covers I purchased from him had gone AWOL since Bill posted them on February 15th.

Later found out:-

So, they arrived Feb 17th, and sat in Customs for 3.5 weeks while they worked out how much to stitch me up for. No doubt the ransom note will arrive tomorrow.

I'm also expecting the new carn insulator to arrive tomorrow, along with some rather nice Bluetooth ear plugs that I ordered from the Bristol Classic Bike Show back at the beginning of February - something else I had to chase for.

I also busted an exhaust collar trying to get the LH down pipe to fit back in... <sob> Replacements on their way...

Doesn't she "smell" it when she come in???? hahhahhha
Reminds me of the time I "tumbled" a gas tank filled with drywall screws in our dryer , wrapped in blankets. Worked like a charm but not when the red dust rust come out all over....
i was grounded for that one

Yeah, she does smell it, but it's mostly passed by that time so she's not too worried. I have to leave the windows and rear door open to clear the smoke - not from my painted parts though!

what a great idea, think i will try that. but i may wrap it with saran wrap before the blankets. i have always used gravel, and shook by hand.
