CL77 headlight conversion from sealed beamCL77 headlight conversion from sealed beamJust like to say thanks for the information I gleaned from these pages. I was able to use this to replace my sealed beam unit with a standard replaceable lamp reflector with side light from a CB400F, at a much reduced price and no longer tied to the sealed beam. It also gives a much easier option for the future to install a LED.
Same diameter and looks of the original unit, only work needed to reduce the depth of the lamp connections as the speedo cable restricts the standard connection. Cheers
I used a Yamaha xs400..They are 6 3/8" too but I needed to bend the 35/35w h4 terminals flat to avoid the speedo cable, then used Spade connectors.
I wanted to do a led but even the ones with remote inline power supply are too high to clear the speedo cable... Because it has a fan on there... You would think there's an LED short enough but I haven't found one yet!!! How about this? http://www.ebay.com/itm/80W-H4-Motorcyc ... 3a97dee35f
