I just purchased a CA72, wet sump, in pieces plus spares. It came with an early CA72 tank as well as a late model one. I am wondering aside from the motor displacement and tanks for some years; are there any other differences between it and the CA77 or are most of the parts interchangeable? I don't have the frames and motor here yet. How about the carb? must be different or have some different jetting???

CA72 vs. CA77I believe the bottom ends are the same as far as the tranny goes and other internal parts.Body parts are the same if I recall.I had bought a CA72 for parts.Clutch pack on the 72 I got had 4 very thick plates in it instead of the 5 plates like on the 77 .Jetting may be slightly different on 72 carb.I can't recall.I might still have the carb out in the garage if you really need to know I could root around for it?
Dream 72 vs 77Thanks for your reply; I will check the clutch pack and see what it looks like. Can't imagine why they would be different. I bet the carbs are different though. I have one in the parts lot; will measure to see. If your spare is handy and it's not too much trouble; could you measure since you know it is for the CA72?

Is the bowl herd in place with screws in each corner?. ..................lm
Is that YOU; ED MOORE? No; bowl is attached with a bale. Also; the body is larger than you would expect for a small displacement bike. It is a Mikuni and it has a model # on it now that the grunge is coming off. top is also held on with a clip instead of a screw on cap (where the cable inserts) and is rectangular! Picture coming soon; it's getting clean quickly. - Beth
