Asking for any info

Post by Marty » Sun Nov 13, 2016 11:02 pm

So I just signed on iam a bike guy have a Harley limited .
Iam acquiring my dads old 305 , iam going to put it back to factor.
When I was a kid when my dad first got it it was in boxes.
The tank was a dark green, but I don't know if that was an origin color.
Does anyone know if the vin has a code ?
And if I need some parts where do I go to find them?
I would be greatful for any help!

Welcome to our nut house.
I'll try to answer at least some of your questions.
No, green was never a factory color. Mostly black, red and sometimes blue.
The vin does not have a code but run consecutively. Post it here and someone here can tell you what year and model you have. I can tell you that a vin with cl is a scrambler, cb is a superhawk and c or ca is a dream.
To find parts for these, there are many repop parts outlets around so open these pages and read your heart out.
Hope this helps, Rusty

Thank for the info , glad to be in the nut house.
In 2006 I spent 5 years restoring a4x4 Chevy luv step side, from the ground up.
With out a site like this it would have takin even longer .
So the help is invaluable , so thanks for responding !

There is a "sticky" near the top of the superhawk forum section.
