do all 305 motors rotate the same direction?

Post by MANATEEBREATH » Wed Dec 05, 2007 8:41 pm

I changed the stator windings in my 65 cb77 starter from a used dream starter.
now it turns the wrong way when I bench tested it?
do the dreams turn the other way from a hawk?

you actually asked two questions

in the subject line you asked "do all 305 motors rotate the same direction?"

in the body of your post you asked " do dreams turn the other way from a hawk?"

it all depends on on which question is answered .....i believe it was the second one

You are correct that was a lazy post,
problem is solved however.
My starter motor had an open stator winding. I had others laying around so I replaced it with a ca? starter, not sure but it was different than the cb.
The starter then rotated the wrong direction. I disassembled it and found the winding is wraped in the opposite direction from the cb starter.
I switched the brush connection with the power input post on the winding and reinstalled it. works great now....
