Baffle hole position

Great news! It has been a hectic week but I found a post office in Topeka on my way to a meeting.

I have just picked up a few more of the Kawasaki idler sprockets to repair the small-wheel tensioners.

Let me know how they work out for you. The screws are held with high-strength loctite.

The parts arrived and sure are nice.
Your work if looked at by anyone who didn't know what they looked like when HONDA issued them can be assumed to be HONDA it is so good.

You can measure the end of the baffle to the threaded hole.
If you have the early issue baffle its end installs flush to the end of the pipe. .............lm

Yes I understand that Ed but I don't have any baffles which is the reason I need the dimensions, I will make baffles to suit the Honda dimensions in the hope that one day I might find some originals.

Here are some pics of a used baffle I picked up recently.

The screw is M5 and about 1/4 inch from the end of the baffle. Position on the pipe depends how far in you want the baffle to fit but I do have a NOS pipe to measure if that helps.

Hello G.
When you measure the pipe compare the distance of the center to the end to the same with the baffle.
You should find the baffle is a bit into the pipe so the hole doesn't ware through.
You'd be surprised how many baffles came loose then gone!
They rattled the hole closer to the end before they flew out. .................lm
