Distribution Box Weather Stripping

Post by catterar » Mon Jul 25, 2016 10:36 am

I don’t know if anyone has done this before but I thought I’d share it in case anyone can use it.
I was looking for something to fill the channel in the distribution box I’d tried using a piece of windshield wiper rubber as someone else had suggested but didn’t have much luck with it.
I had some screening spline left over from a window screen repair and thought I’d give that a try.
You can find it at all the Big Box stores.
The channel was too wide and deep for the .125 spline I had and too deep for just the .175 spline I bought for the project. So I laid a piece of the .125 spline in the channel to support the .175 spline then worked the .175 spline into the channel.
I hope this helps someone.
