I didn't take any photos, but simply tied one end of the shock to a tree with 1/2" nylon rope, hooked the come-along to the other end of the shock, secured the cable of the come-along to another tree some 10' away and prcoeeded to tighten the ratchet. Be sure to wear leather gloves and eye (maybe even face) protection, since it comes loose with explosive force. The seals were in good condition, but the fluid inside was a dark brown sludge. I used emery cloth to remove most of the corrosion inside the shock body and replaced the fluid. Can't remember what I used, but I believe the type and quantity are given in Bill Silver's restoration guide. --Randall
