My CL came without any paperwork, I rang HMRC and told them I had a Honda which had obviously been imported at some time probably before NOVA, they told me what form to use and an address in Liverpool to send it to with a copy of the receipt, I quickly got a letter back to say no duty/vat owing and a NOVA reference #. When the bike is complete insure on the frame #, get an MOT, a dating certificate from an authorised club and then you can speak to the DVLA to register it.
Malcolm, that is exactly the thing I needed to read. Thank you for this.

I'm hoping they'll accept the receipt I have from the previous owner, but it is un-dated and I've not (yet?) heard from the original importer. I can however prove that the frame and wheel work was done prior to NOVA, so hopefully it shouldn't be too much of an issue.

So, does anyone have any advice about how to start? Swingarm on first followed by rear wheel and centre stand? Or should I bolt up the engine to the frame?

I started with the engine then worked my way to the back.
