Clutch Springs?

Post by carlluvscorinne » Fri Apr 06, 2007 11:34 am

Hi All!
I am looking for a set of replacement clutch springs for a 1964 CB77 Superhawk. In Bill Slivers restoration book he recommends using -425- springs. Any idea what these springs part number is? I called my Honda dealer and the factory springs are discontinued, and they have no idea what -425- means.
Thanks in advance,
Carl

Thats the problem with trained apes, they're only as good as the trainer! Ask for part number 22401-425-000. But a good Honda parts man would know that. And shame on Bill for assuming.

i have some of the same concerns since i have noticed that these bikes have a tendency of a hard clutch pull. in the silver books it says -323- product code. i have found that the older cb350's share that part number even though the 350 only uses one spring so if i bought 4 of those would they work. it also says in the silver book that the new -425- (cb750 dohc) springs seem to work well, in most applications, balancing light lever pull with enough tension to prevent slipping. so to me the 425 part number sounds that it would be the best. has anyone tried these? thanks for any info in advance.
