Worked a bit installing the Sachse unit this afternoon and managed to put the wiring inside the side case through the stator, between the windings. Seems like a good fit. A little tricky to put it all back on the bike with the rotor still in place, but no cursing was heard. Pics below.

Great product and excellent work. Great to see the pictures. I met the giys at last year's Stafford bike show but haven't taken th eplunge yet.

Do you have a picture of the electronic box and where you're going to fit it?

Looks great, solves the exposed wiring issue. From past automotive experiences, I'm wondering if it's a good idea to run these trigger wires through (or close to) a magnetic field. As I do not have a great electronic background to draw on, perhaps one of you could provide some reassurance. Thanks, Chase

That may be an issue. Like you, I did wonder about that. If it is a problem, using screened cable may help, with the screen grounded at the control-box end.

Chase, I do have reservations about running the wire between the windings, but I think it's worth a try.

G, I'm going to try to mount the control box to the front of the tool box, but I have to be careful because the right cover latch screw extends into that area too. A bracket may be necessary to extend the controller out in order to miss it. I'll post photos when I get to that part. Right now, I'm trying to decide what to do about making the rotor's timing marks more visible. I've extended the T mark to the edge of the rotor with a Sharpie so that I can see it, but that's not a good solution to the visibility problem.

I took everything apart and cut a window in the bracket and enlarged the existing slot in the PCB so that the rotor timing marks are visible. I'm now thinking about mounting the control unit. Tricky....

I think that by now, I might have voided any warranty that came with this thing.....

I finished the wiring for the Sachse unit today. There was a bit of confusion with the colors of the existing coil wiring, but LM helped me sort it all out. Unfortunately, I was not able to mount the control box on the outside of the tool box as I had hoped. There's room for it to fit vertically, but the right side cover interferes. My only options were to mount it on the end of the battery with Velcro or inside the tool box. I chose the latter. I'll use Velcro to secure it. All wires to the coils are in shrink wrap and wire tied to the frame.

Tomorrow, or soon thereafter, I'll mount and set the magnetic disk. I'll have to decide which curve to use. After reading a few older posts on the forum, it seems curve 8 is appropriate.
