305 Engine Test Stand?

Post by Seadog » Sun May 08, 2016 8:17 am

I'm thinking of building a test stand. Has anyone ever done this for 305s and willing to share information?

I built mine about 15 years ago, after struggling with various top end oil leak. I have it setup to attach to my forklift so after I kick start just elevate to set timing and have good view for leaks. Then after cooling off retorque head. If you send a PM I'll send pics.

I haven't made mine yet, but I'll post photos when I do. Maybe Tim will post photos of his.

Seadog,

Feel free to post the pics I sent you. I never took the time to learn the crazy pic posting process.
I rather speed my time repairing alloy tanks & S/S mufflers (:

I was impressed with this adjustable stand, but doubt it is strong enough for a running engine.
