67 cl77 Paint Color Codes

Post by bweed2112 » Wed Apr 13, 2016 3:42 pm

Needing to repaint some parts on my bike and was wondering what the color codes are for the these bikes. Want to try and get as close to original as I can, however the parts that I have were repainted a non standard color by the previous owner, my grandfather (what was he thinking??? ;) )
Also what are your thoughts on powder coating. I'm planning on having the frame and swing arm powdercoated. Are there any other parts that should also be powder coated, rather than painted?

So i called Honda and they gave me a code of NH10M, and said it was a dark silver.
What i need now is a paint chip that i can take to a shop in town so they can get the right stuff.
Anybody have any ideas for this?

Thanks

What are you painting and how do you plan on doing it? Pro painter or rattle can? I think the light gray you're interested in is "Cloud Silver" NH35M, not "Dark Silver" NH10M.

Are you planning on showing the bike? If you are, use paint. If not, I think powder coat is more durable.

Looking through the parts manuals, there are three colours used over time, Dark silver (NH10M), Metallic silver (????) and chrome. It seems that the only one used before CB77-1056084 is Dark silver. Metallic silver and chrome were used from there to the end.

And, looking at the side covers in the manual I see that they were issued in the above colours but also in candy red after CB77-1056084. I've never seen one painted like that.
