That must be patina!

A little clear coat and it will be right in line with current vintage paint schemes!

If you like that side cover, you might want to buy a CB350 transmission bearing that he is also selling. The outer cage is rusted and the needle bearings inside carry rust as well. He is from Massachusetts, I'm thinking he stores his parts in his boat house overlooking the Atlantic ocean.
