Beginning RestorationWow, good news all around!
On the bearings, 19 + 18 is exactly what I recovered. Thought for sure I had lost one since I had an odd number. OldScrambler, what a generous offer! I will PM you. Jeff, on the chain guard, I may have exaggerated. I took another look at it and it was just the rear mounting tab that was broken off and welded back together. Thanks all! Paul
They are Rebound Only. .................lm
I am now getting things ready to be powder coated. Do the brass and rubber bushings in the swing arm need to be removed or can they be masked off? I tried to remove one of the brass bushings but the edge started to roll over before the bushing began to budge. The bushings appear to be in good shape without a lot of wear. I would just as soon let them stay in if I can.
Also, there appeared to be some type of dust seal on the face of the bushings. Can those be replaced with O-rings? Thanks Paul
You will need to take out anything rubber or it will melt. The bushings should be ok if you mask them--they should come out though and checked over. All the parts you need to purchase including those dust seals can be purchased thru Nick at Ohio Cycle. You will need those seals---o rings will not work.
