Just bought a Dream Touring in bits.

Hello all, my name is Darren, and I'm based in Bristol, UK.

I've recently joined up on the forum as I've bought myself a resto CA77 in bits to bolt back together. These are new to me as I generally prefer '80's two strokes - I have a RD350LC2 (RZ350 in US?) for restoration, and also a 2014 ZZR1400 (ZX-14R) as my daily ride.

Luckily, the guy I purchased from has already had the engine rebuilt, and had a number of items powder coated in RAL 5005 (Signal Blue). There are also new rims and spokes on the rebuild wheels, and new exhausts to go on the bike.



I believe the bike to be a '61 model, frame is CA77-10590, and the engine is CA77E-110605. As such, I'm a little underwhelmed with the availability of spares! :) There appear to be a few small bits missing, and some that really could do with replacing before being re-plated, etc.

Anywhere I can source a Honda type 255 lamp lens at a reasonable cost??! :D

Wow I'm speechless. That is one hell of a project you have there. What's the story behind the previous owner, probably not good.

Thank you. Unfortunately, I'll not be able to make a real start until the end of May due to study commitments. In the meantime, I'll be looking for the few bits I suspect are missing. I really need to lay it all out and take stock of what I have got.

The guy who I bought it from works in the same place as myself. He originally bought two CA77's - this one, and a black unit. He's got a few other bikes, so is down-sizing his collection.

Great project - pre-restored!

I am up in Derby and a few years ago cleaned out a guy's garage with a pile of Dreams in it. I am going to get them back together over a period of years but if you are desperate for anything let me know and I may be able to help out. I enjoy the restoration process and re-making things.

This is my 1960 C77-A which is the pre-decessor of the CA77 in the USA....



I have a matching UK-spec 1960 C72 and the two will be built as a matching pair..
