Stator coil question

Some of the material that covers the stator coils is coming off. what do you do? thanks Mike

You could try putting some epoxy on there to stick the covering back.

Or you could try wrapping with some cloth soaked in polyurethane varnish.

If it is just the fabric covering (which it probably is) just paint the coils with varnish and don't worry about it - it gets brittle with age and the varnish will toughen it up. Try not to get varnish on the pole faces (that face the rotor) - if you do, sand it off.

If you are loosing the reddish varnish on the coil wires, varnish will also work for that but plan on changing your stator wiring 'cause if the insulation is coming off the coil wires, that one isn't going to last much longer.
