Restoring wire harness

I am in the process of going through my wire harness. Some areas of the harness has a black sheathing over the wires, looks similar to shrink tubing. For example from my hi/low beam switch there are 3 wires which are encased in a black sheath, This is routed thru the handlebars. My sheath is all dryed out and brittle. My question is has anyone found a particular type of sheathing that is the same as what honda used? If I use shrink tube and melt it down it fits tighter on the wires than what honda used. Im guessing its just some type of black vinyl tube?

Being in the electrical field for many decades I noticed this sheathing as well.

Manufacturers who are producing things in large quantity have access to machines and technology that we restorers don't have. I would suspect that these sections of cabling are produced by slipping a stretched PVC tube over the wires and then treating them with heat or a chemical that allows them to return to their original size. It is similar to heat-shrink tubing but does not remain the in the stretched state long term.

The only practical alternative for us is either to use heat-shrink or to find a tubing of the appropriate size and pull the wires through with lubricant. The latter is tricky but it can be done. Personally I would just use heat-shrink and go easy with the heat so it doesn't tighten up really tight.

Thanks for the suggestions, I really like the appearance of the tubing cycle terminal has. I think I am going to try thier tubing.

I used the above supplier for the correct silver sheathing AND silver pvc tape when I made a complete replacement loom, its good stuff & it turned out ok.
