Thanks for the lead, Stan..............They don't say HONDA but I ordered 2 sets to use on 'riders'.

OldStan, wish I would have come across those earlier. They are less than have the price than what Southside charged me. I ended up bending mine to work as HoosierTom suggested. Thanks all for your input.

I will soon be attempting to de-rust the inside of my gas tank. I will be using the toilet cleaner method suggested on this site. Does anyone have any helpful hints as far as technique, temporarily sealing the tank, removing knee pads etc.?

I have decide to farm out the engine portion of my project. I am considering having Tim McDowell of Classic Restorations go thru the motor and carbs. He claims they will be like new inside and out. He told me most jobs run in the $1500 to $1600 range and he sounds like a nice enough guy. Has anyone here used his services? How did he do? Or can somebody recommend somebody else for that matter? Just trying to make sure I am working with someone reputable.

Hi everyone,

I am in the process of disassembling my bike and sorting what needs to be cleaned, what needs to be painted, plated, etc.

I have removed the brake linkage from the front hub. This assembly is riveted together at three points (see pic).

I would like to separate these parts so they can be re-chromed. My question is how do I re-assemble them? Are there rivets that I can install? A different type of fastener? What have other people done in this case?

I make my own rivets in stainless steel.

You could probably find some straight pins which would take a split pin or "R" clip to secure them.
