CA77 Shift Shaft Spline size
CA77 Shift Shaft Spline size
I'm getting super frustrated trying to find the correct shift lever/pedal for my 1961 Dream Touring 305. Literally all the replacement stock shafts on ebay and all the restoration parts site only have one spline size: 0.400" more or less. Oddly, my shaft measure O.D. 0.500 more or less. What gives? Was there a larger shaft on the earlier models? Randi

Are you able to send pics?
If you can I'd like to see a pic of the outside of the clutch cover and the end of the shaft which you say is large. .....................lm

Update on shift shaft diameter
It's pretty difficult to understand the original shop manual for the bikes as the Jap's wrote English as poorly as they spoke it....just sayin....
One thing I saw in one of the chapters was that some Dreams had what they are referring to as a "rotary" style transmission. Also saw shift lever I.D. spec of around 0.680, not the 0.400" I'm finding everywhere. I'm starting to think I have one of these supposed rotary transmissions. Please continue to provide feedback you guys. I sure need it. And I still need a shift lever that will fit. Thanks guys.
