Okay, I Need Some CB77 Crankshaft Bearing Info

Post by bill440cars » Sun Oct 21, 2007 4:57 pm

I've gotten confused on the type of bearings on the CB77 crankshaft. I've got a parts breakdown from crotchrocket.com for a 61 CB77, that will show what I'm talking about. Well this breakdown apply to a 63 also? This concerns items #6, 7, 17 & 18 Or 16. What determines which set of bearings is on that side? I have a crankshaft (that I got off of ebay) and that side has no bearing at all. Other than that, the crankshaft is in great shape. Any info appreciated.

Later on, Bill

I believe you're reffering to the right side of the crank. The origional bearing was a flat needle bearing type. They were superceded by a roller bearing on the later models. That will probably be all you can find at this point, although you could try western hills honda or ohio cycle for the origional type.

davomoto, Sorry I'm a bit behind in getting back to the forum. Thanks for your input. I'm looking into that bearing situation.

Your crank came with a pin roller bearing (parts books show 20 pins) assembly. The other is a BALL TYPE BEARING that can be used if the bearing contact surface on the crank is warn/gouged. I have the pin type parts if you need them. ....................lm

Crankshaft Bearing

Hey lm,

I'm listening. I got myself a fine CB77 crankshaft that is in great shape except that I don't have a bearing setup on that side. The rest seems good to go! I shoulda known that you'd either have the stuff or know where to get it. So, what kind of a deal are are we talking?
