The previous owner of the bike tore the screw heads up, so this is going to be a giant pain..

Some screws with exposed heads can be removed with small vise grips if too badly buggered. Others you may have to use a drill to carefully take the heads off. ONLY AS LAST RESORT.

Thank you for the advice. I'm going to try to get the motor running this week, in the hopes of getting the motor warm/hot. MAYBE these screws will let go so I don't have to drill them out and then go on the search for new screws.

If you guys think this is not going to do anything please let me know..I'll start on the screws with vise grips/drill.

It's been my experience that the screws are stuck were the screw heads meet the cover. Once you remove the screw heads the threaded parts will come out very easily.
New screw kits are plentiful on ebay.

One trick you might try before any dissasembly. I have found this works sometimes.
Put the transmission in first gear, pull in the clutch lever and roll (or try to roll) the bike backwards. Do this on a good traction surface like a paved driveway with you sitting on the bike. (shop concrete floor may just let the tire slide).
The engine compression is usually enough resistance to seperate the clutch plates.
Use a little descretion with bumping you don't want to break something else.
I have found some brands of oil with some clutch fiber plates will cause this sticking effect, especially when left sitting for a while. Don't know why.

Tried the trick nothing doing, still no movement. BUT, I did get the motor running for the first time in YEARS. I don't mind telling the group I was smiling ear to ear. Something about hearing your project run for the first time. Going to buy an impact driver this weekend and start on the clutch side tear down.
