Just one carburetor!

Kind of a cool idea for a twin, makes life easier.

If you're having idle issues I would start with your points adjustment and valves, then set the carburetor to base settings and start turning the carb from there.

Don't tell anyone, but i've set ignition timing without a light several times in the past.

Pretty much every Honda I've ever owned needs their valve clearances checked and adjusted. Late models are no different, it's worth the ten minutes to get it running well. Valves out of clearance can also be the cause of low or no compression sometimes.

Someone mentioned it in your other thread, but you get a two pronged $1 light bulb from any auto parts store and put two alligator clips onto it (one on positive, one on negative prong of the bulb).

Then you clip one to your engine fins and one onto the little metal arm that the point is attached to.

Then you twist your crankshaft until the F mark lines up with the flywheel mark and your light should go on or off depending how you attached them to the bulb. Someone may chime in with better directions but basically go to YouTube or Google and type "Honda motorcycle ignition timing with a light bulb" and I guarantee you'll find a dozen videos explaining the process.
