I bought a bridge rectifier

P/N GBPC 3504 [35W 400V]. There is a + and ~ on printed one side. Does the ~ symbol mean negative terminal? According to the sticky[first post in this forum], the picture shows one of the AC wires going to this terminal, and the negative ground wire connected to the rectifier terminal [unmarked] diagonally opposite to the + terminal. I guess my confusion lies with being unsure what the ~ symbol means, rather than a - [minus] symbol . I just want to make sure I install this properly, as my 66 CB77 has a rather crusty/rusty stock rectifier, and the posts I have read on this mod show an improvement in battery charging at idle. Thanks.

The ~ symbol stands for alternating current.
