Center Stand Hitting Swingarm

Post by Seadog » Sat Aug 29, 2015 2:58 pm

I'm doing something wrong and I don't know what it might be. In assembling my CA77/78, I have found that the centerstand hits the bottom of the swingarm. I have the new robber donut on the center stand leg, but it doesn't come near touching anything.before the stand makes contact. What could possibly be wrong?

In the photo, the rubber donut isn't touching anything, but it's positioned as far back as it can be.

Install a muffler and it won't hit the swing arm. ............lm

Thanks very much for that info, LM, I appreciate it. Old age has dimmed my memory a bit, but I could have sworn that the rubber hit the swing arm before I disassembled the bike. It didn't come with mufflers. I'll have to rig a temporary solution until I get them. I don't want to keep losing new paint.
