Crankcase washer...

Post by R100 » Thu Aug 13, 2015 2:48 pm

One 6mm nut (bottom of crankcase) is an oddball, and has an aluminium washer.
Can anyone tell me why that is?

The stud it fits on goes through the oil gallery from the oil pump to clutch cover. The aluminum washer is to keep the oil in.....

Thanks G.
Some of the other bottom washers are rather beat up.
Is there anything special about them, or can they be replaced with any proper size steel washers?

Just regular steel for the other washers.

Zinc plated, of course.

Jerry recommends a dab of Hondabond under each one.
