Beatrice cycle has a really nice unit that works great. solid state in a finned heat sink with a correct color wire harness. It even bolts up to the original mounts on most old Hondas. $15. for that price, I buy a half dozen just to have them when I need them.

Many thanks for your replies, just popped out & bought a similar one to the Radio-shack one, £2.50 (about 4 bucks) , cobbled up a heat-sink bracket from 3mm alloy angle & mounted it ok, I will make the connectors to suit when I make the new harness.
Its a 35A unit, but SHOULD be ok.

There are several threads if you do a search for radio shack and/or rectifier
Sorry, got my numbers backwards.

Actually got a 50volt 25amp, so yours should be even better.

Nice job on the install!

I see that they have several units. Which do you use?
