Will the new sleeves need to be bored after they are installed.
Who will install them. ..................lm
rideordie wrote:Got a new problem...I'm not sure how this happened and did not notice until yesterday but the base of my cylinder sleeve is cracked and will need to be replaced. Does anybody have an extra one they would be willing to sell? Or know where I can get one? So far my best option looks like sending back the pistons I just got in and getting the entire piston kit (with new sleeves) from classic Honda with another $100 spent. A rather disappointing discovery :(

Yes LM they will need to be bored. As far as installation goes, I will probably have the machine shop do it when taking it in to get bored. Here's the kit...

Thanks for the info.
I wondered what the estimated cost might be. ....................lm

I'm assuming between the piston kit, sleeves, and boring I'll be looking at about $500 which is more than I paid for the bike originally...now I understand why people shy away from a bike with a frozen engine haha.

Hey Fellas!

I've been in a lull on the bike for a while now unfortunately. Had a couple art shows, moving, and not enough funds to continue but now I'm back at it! Ordering the cylinder sleeve and Honda bond to get started on rebuilding the engine. Just want to make sure this is the right stuff because apparently there are a couple different types of HondaBond...

Going to pick up my engine block with my freshly bored out cylinders today from a local shop here in Orlando called Precision Cycle which has quite the reputation. Pretty excited to see the results, he said they came out perfect! He also is very passionate about this rebuild as well which gives me a little bit more motivation to get it done. About to start on reassembly, have all the parts I need (as of right now) my gaskets, tools, hondabond, and all that good stuff, but what about lubricant? Any recommendations?

Will post pics when I get the block back :)
