$300+ seems to be the going rate at the moment but if you ar eprepared to be patient and buy single pistons you can usually do better.

David Silver seems to be out of stock so Classic Honda Restoration is probably your best bet right now.

Just looked - Ohio Cycle has genuine pistons at $125

Thanks G-Man! Yeah I'll probably just go with the classic Honda set, cant really afford to wait around to source parts since I start school back up in about a month and a half and need to make as much progress as I can before I go back to work/school full time -___-

Those ones from Classic Honda Restoration come all complete with rings clips and pins. Also they are forged so probably better quality than original Honda items.

I've used Cast (HONDA) pistons and forged (WISCO) in the 329CC HONDA Odyssey engine (LATER BORED OVERSIZE AS THE RACING TIME WORE THE CYLINDER AND PISTON) and after the cylinder needed a larger piston than 1.00 (4th) we used WISCO pistons to a Racing Limit of 360cc.
Cast ran and ran until the BORE required the next size up. (not the piston)
After 1.00 the WISCO pistons we used required you to pull the head and LOOK at the piston dome.
After apx. 10 hours the dome would be collapsing and Ya Had To Replace It or as some found out the HARD WAY a lot of Aluminum would go into the engine and you were done in the race and had a tough crank case clean up.
BTW the pistons you suggest are manufactured by WISCO. .....................lm

Interesting observation.

Generally from an Engineering standpoint, forged pistons are regarded as superior but LM's experience cannot be ignored with that particular engine.

Huh, very interesting LM. Cant imagine forged being of lesser quality than cast but as noted by G-Man, I cannot deny that you are quite the expert when it comes to these machines.

I ordered the pistons last night before seeing your post but between research and reading good reviews, did not read anything like you mentioned. The only exception is that the forged pistons have a tendency to expand rapidly on a cold engine so not allowing the engine to warm up can potentially seize the engine.

I have always had a tendency to do this with all my cars so that is nothing new for me.

The difference in expansion rate was described to me by the OLD FELLER (72) who did my bore work.
He set the clearance on the HONDA at apx. 1 1/4 TH. and when I brought the first WISCO piston he told me that in the box was the paperwork which show 1 1/2 TH but from his experience the clearance MUST be 2 TH or they would seize no matter how long you slowly broke them in."Put the RPM's and they would seize".
I needed a cylinder bored for the next race
and this feller couldn't get to it as he was so busy.
I took it to a friend's shop and he did the work as I watched.
I told him 2 TH and he stated I was wrong but I insisted 2 TH so he did as I ask.
He did 3 other cylinders that week all at less that 2 TH.
Went to GLEN HELEN race track that Saturday and I cruised around a bit then NAILED IT and was soon ready for the Sunday races.
There were 4 cylinders with new bores from my friend in the Sunday races.
I won both 1 hour races and the other 3 engines seized in the first heat and were through.
Would you believe he did the next size up for those fellers for free but to the same clearance.
They all seized at the next race.
Finally he changed to 2 TH and the 4 of us had good racing but it cost him a lot of $$$ not to listen and watch.
BTW the skirts of those pistons aren't as long as the HONDA ones. ......................lm
