Shocks and mirror info

I am looking to replace the rear shocks on my 67 CL77. They are rusty and crusty on the chrome parts below the painted tops. Most of the ones I see on ebay are as bad as mine. I see advertisements for chrome ones from Thailand. Any opinion on these?

Or, if anyone has some originals that are not bad, would be interested.

Also, what is the mirror size and thread for the perches for the mirrors? Looking for a pair if anyone has any.

8mm stems and threads............How well restored do you want your bike to be? The ebay shocks will be noticed by fellow CL72-77 riders. A low cost source of bottom covers is from the CB350. They are slightly shorter but that only shows if your jumping over buses. Its rather thin metal so if they are wrinkled or deeply pitted, they are not good candidates for re-chroming. If you source a set of used covers, try to get the earlier units that have an expansion-crimp at the top........it helps to hold the top covers straight and away from the chrome as the springs compress.

Thanks for the response. My first pass at looking for CB350 bottom covers for the rear shocks show the springs are exposed, no bottom chrome covers? Maybe I am missing something. Which years/models of hondas had chrome bottom shock covers? Are others interchangeable like cl160 or cl175 or later scramblers? Perhaps other jap bikes? I can get away with just getting the chrome bottoms replaced, and probably rebuild the rest. Thanks

My mistake...............its the CB350 uppers that can be used as lower covers for the CL72-77 shocks. At full extension they still look good from the side. If you adjust the shocks to pre-load the springs, no one would notice.
