Semi restore/mod cb77 superhawk? **PICS ADDED****

Post by Rysingsun86 » Fri May 01, 2015 1:40 am

So i bought a cb77 not quite sure what year havent taken a picture of the vin # yet.
It is all apart besides the frame and engine forks. I have the tank and mud guards.
I need some pictures or help with parts.

The bike has NO wiring at all none what so ever.
so a wiring diagram harness with whats connected to it would be awesome.
If im lucky someone has them for sale?

The starter came off a ca77 dream looks like it fits but not sure if it would work.
Going to do this step by step if anyone could help with some advice would be great.

Jesse

PS the replacement parts dont need to be exact replicas anything aftermarket on the inexpensive side would work.??

I have used new wiring harnesses from overseas sellers. They are ok but many of the connectors are the wrong size. I had to cut most of them off and replace.

Lots of good help and information here, you'll find everything you need.

There's a section here for literature, you want to download a manual for your Superhawk. You might even go to the main page (www.honda305.com) and order Bill Silver's restoration books, they're invaluable and they're cheaper than Clymers or Haynes manuals for our bikes.

I think you're kinda lucky to have no wiring in the bike at all. Starting from scratch is much less scary to me. You never know if you're patching old crap or bad connections or what have you.

Simply start at A, go to B, repeat.

But if i had wiring i can just run new wires and not having to guess whats missing like a solenoid rectifier etc...

To each his own. I think seeing yellow touch here, then following along and touching here is really easy but I also build electronic things for a living.

G-Man is very right, it's pretty cheap and easy to buy a Thailand Wiring Harness from ebay, they're everywhere and they're usually correct, maybe 80% correct in my experience.

Definitely a safe bet, though.

Added pics i have a mint gas tank and seat new rims and stock mufflers 1 rusted badly tho.
But thats pretty much what i am left with.

And i guess heres some pics of previous bikes ive built. The white was in china don't remember the model number had a chinese name. The other is a gn250 rebuilt frame up welded new frame and custom everything else. Finally a 300cc kit was added.
