Is this right?

Post by Farm Shop » Sat Mar 07, 2015 8:25 pm

I finally have my 67 cl motor back together and I know that when I put the point shaft back in I aligned the line with the punch mark on the cam sprocket and that everything lined up when I put the cam chain on.

When adjusting the valves it appears that when the rotor is at tdc for the right cylinder and the point shaft line is facing up the motor is at tdc on the exhaust stroke because the valves are tight.

When I roll it 360 back to tdc with the points mark facing down now my valves are slack indicating tdc compression stroke.

Is this correct or do I have something backwards???

You have it correct for the right side. (line down 90 degrees to engine center adjust both right side valves.). ...........lm

OK thanks much Loud Mouse!

I was starting to second guess that I hadn't put the points shaft in backwards. Because even though I know I paid attention it was a while ago that I put it back together..........

Thanks again FS
