It does look rather home-made, but it was chromed at some point in its life. It was covered in grease & grime, so I'm thinking it was located in the vicinity of the chain.

Not sure where you found it but any reason you may think it's for a HONDA?. ......lm

My project bike came to me as a rolling chassis with all of its disassembled parts in two crates. All of the small parts were in two large plastic drink cups and one small cardboard box. I've identified, sorted and bagged it all and although there are lots of small parts missing, everything I've found so far has been an original part. My "unknowns" are now just a few bolts. I've looked at every parts illustration without finding this thing and if you and G-Man don't recognize it, then I can believe it's just junk.
