305 Cylinders

Post by rdsrus » Mon Jan 12, 2015 1:24 pm

Hello, new to this forum, been involved with Hondas since 1968. I have offered to help a friend trying to start a restoration shop with id ing parts. Starting with 305 cylinders and heads I have 7 cylinders 3 of them have casting mark 305cc H1,1 has 305cc H2, 1 305cc M1,1 305cc M2, 1 305cc only. Is there any resource for id ing which serial # range, models these fit? Any help would be appreciated, Thanks in advance. Bill

Bill

Welcome to the forum.

There was a change to the lubrication system sometime in '61/'62 and the barrels changed. After that the differences are just cosmetic such as a change to die casting from sand casting.

This a late style gasket on an early crankcase.....

There was a change on the last barrels for the narrower can chain adjuster. On my 67 its marked just 305cc.
